Bridgewater, VA—The Sweet Briar lacrosse team survived a rain-shortened week and came back strong to dump ODAC opponent Bridgewater College 20-1. The Vixen defense held the Eagles to four shots; sophomore keeper Emily Fitzpatrick (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) made three saves. First year Bethany Bressan (Charlottesville, VA/STAB) led all scorers with seven. Classmate Ellie Donahue (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) scored five and junior Julie Sellers (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) tallied four. Other scorers included captain Ginger Tripp '05 (Richmond, VA/St. Catherines), Amanda Swan '05 (Garrison, NY/John Jay), and Sarah Ross Stewart '08 (Lexington, VA/VES).

Coach Missy Ackerman said, "We prepared this week for transition on Bridgewater's tight field, and it worked. Two passes off the opening draw and we were up 1-0."

Sweet Briar is 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They host ODAC foe Randolph-Macon on March 30 at 4:30 pm.
