Bethany Bressan’s ’08 (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne’s Belfield) six first-half goals, helped power Sweet Briar lacrosse to a 26-0 win over Hollins University Friday.
The Sweet Briar offense dominated the game early, scoring in the first minute of play on an unassisted goal by Ellie Donahue ’08 (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal). The Vixens added 15 more before half to lead 16-0 at the break. Bressan led all scorers with seven goals and five assists. Ten other Vixens put one on the board in the game, including four each from Sarah Ross Stewart ’08 (Lexington, VA/Virginia Episcopal) and Julie Sellers ’06 (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy).
"It's always difficult to play the day Spring Break starts, but the team stayed focused and directed their energy to beating our longest rivals," said head coach Missy Ackerman.
The Vixens are in Florida next week on a training trip. They face Western New England Wednesday at 11 a.m. The team returns home March 25 when they take on Guilford College.
