Twelve different Vixens either scored or assisted as Sweet Briar lacrosse defeated Averett University 20-2 Thursday on the road. With the win, Sweet Briar evens their record at 2-2.
The Vixens’ offense started strong, jumping out to a 16-2 lead at the half. First-year Bethany Bressan (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne’s Belfield) led all scorers with four goals and four assists. Senior Karah Strawley (Charlottesville, VA/Covenant) scored three goals and picked up two assists. Junior Kim Korpady (Lake Oswego, OR/Lack Oswego) played outstanding in midfield, collecting eight ground balls.
"We were able to do a lot of things with our offense and get some good looks," said coach Missy Ackerman about the win.
Sweet Briar returns home tomorrow to face Hollins University at 4 p.m.
