Sweet Briar, VA—The Generals of Washington and Lee defeated Sweet Briar 9-0 in an ODAC tennis match today. SBC coach Kelly Morrison said, "It's always a challenge playing one of the top teams in the country, but we set individual goals and everyone met them."

At #3 doubles, Laura Denson '05 (Houston, TX/Episcopal HS) and Haley Graham '06 (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes HS) lost 8-4, but Morrison said, "You could see the effects of the practice time we've put in. All the doubles showed great court movement."

In singles, senior Sue Knouse (Washington, DC/Fort Worth CDS) lost a tough match at #6 6-3, 7-5 to Allie Chafey. Knouse was up 5-3 in the second set, but Chafey battled back to take the set and the match.

The Vixens are away next week on their Spring Break training trip to Orlando, Florida. The next home match is March 23 against Bridgewater College at 4 pm.
