STAUNTON, VA. — Sweet Briar met Mary Baldwin in a pool format fencing match, placing first in both epee and sabre. Charlotte Spielman '06 (Amherst, VA) skewered all four opponents in sabre, giving up only four touches in four bouts. Shawna Harris '07 (Windsor, VA) took third and Jess Price '05 (Earlysville, VA) was fifth.

Seniors Sarah O'Donnell (Chapel Hill, NC) and Robin Parkinson (Robesonia, PA) took first and second in epee. Foil fencers Liz Churchill '05 (Chevy Chase, MD) and Megan Maloney '08 (Asheville, NC) finished second and fifth.

The Vixens won the match overall on differential +6 to -5, improving to 3-2 in dual competition.
