Five teams put in a long afternoon of fencing at the Sweet Briar Invitational. The host Vixens defeated Mary Washington (15-12) and James Madison (17-10) and lost to Stevens Tech (5-22).
Senior epee fencer Robin Parkinson (Robesonia, PA) turned in an outstanding tournament, winning 8 bouts and losing only one. Close on her heels was junior sabre fencer Charlotte Spielman (Amherst, VA) who fenced 7-2 on the day.
Team scores for the day were Stevens 4-0, SBC 2-1, Hollins 1-2, Mary Washington 1-2, and James Madison 0-3.
