The Sweet Briar College swim team finished its season Sunday witha fourth-place finish at the ODAC/Atlantic States Championships held at RadfordUniversity.
The Vixens were led by first-year Nicole Snyder (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) whoreceived co-Rookie-Of-the-Meet honors. Head coach Jason Gallaher was namedODAC Coach-of-the-Year.
Snyder set two school records in the 1650 freestyle. She broke Sweet Briar'scurrent 1000 freestyle record in the first 1000 yards of the 1650, with a timeof 11:04.53, and set her second record of the event on her way to a first-placefinish (18:23.07). Snyder also placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:24.90)and second in the 200 butterfly (2:15.25).
In the relay events, the team of Snyder, Katherine Walsh '08 (Yorktown,Pa./Peninsula Catholic), Kelsey Jeffers '07 (Falls Church, Va./Falls Church),and Brittany Carlton '08 (Warrenton, Va/Highland School) placed second in the800 freestyle relay (8:47.69). Jennifer Milby '08 (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis), Jeffers, Snyder, and Carlton took home third place in the 200 medleyrelay (2:02.67).
Carlton also placed third in the 400 individual medley (4:56.93) and fifth inthe 200 individual medley (2.21.51).
