Sweet Briar College swimming picked up its fourth win of the season, defeating the Keydets of Virginia Military Institute 79-49 Wednesday. The Vixens started strong again, with the relay team of Leigh Darrell (Chestertown, MD/Queen Anne's County), Susan Lea (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy), Katherine Walsh (Yorktown, VA/Peninsula Catholic), and Stephanie Norris (Richmond, VA/J.R. Tucker) winning the 200 M. medley relay. Freshman Nicole Snyder was a two-event winner, winning the 800 M. freestyle and the 100 M. butterfly. Brittany Carlton (Warrenton, VA/Highland School) won the 200 M. freestyle and Kelsey Jeffers (Falls Church, VA/Falls Church) picked up the win in the 100 M. backstroke. For the Keydets, Whitney Steiger won the 50 M. freestyle and Erin Hottle won the 400 M. freestyle. ?Coach Gallaher asked us to swim different events tonight,? commented Walsh after the meet. ?Everyone stepped it up and swam really well.? The Vixens are back in the water next Wednesday. They face the Generals of Washington and Lee at 6 p.m.
