Sweet Briar College swimming finished strong to defeat Randolph-Macon Woman's College 136-125 in a closely contested ODAC meet Friday evening. The lead changed sides five times before the Vixens pulled ahead, winning four of the last five events to capture the win. Freshmen Nicole Snyder (Manassas, VA/Osbourn) and Brittany Carlton (Warrenton, VA/Highland School) were both three-event winners. Snyder won the 200 M. freestyle, 200 M. butterfly and the 100 M. butterfly. The 100 M. and 200 M. breaststrokes and the 200 M. individual medley went to Carlton. Sweet Briar also got wins from Leigh Darrell '06 (Chestertown, MD/Queen Anne's County) in the 800 M. freestyle and Katherine Walsh in the 400 M. freestyle. R-MWC won both the 200 M. medley relay and the 400 M. freestyle relay. Kimberly Edmonds swam on both relay teams and picked up individual event wins in the 100 M and 200 M. backstrokes. ?This was an all-around great meet for our team and the best our team has raced while I have been coaching at Sweet Briar,? said head coach Jason Gallaher. ?Everyone knew what their job was and achieved it.?
