Three Sweet Briar field hockey players were recently named to the 2004 All-Conference Field Hockey Teams voted on by the coaches. Junior goalkeeper Jenn Wiley (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) received first-team honors for the third consecutive year.
Senior Ginger Tripp (Richmond, VA/St. Catherine's) joined Wiley as a first-team selection and junior Julie Drake was an honorable mention selection. Wiley has collected more than 200 saves in each of her three seasons at Sweet Briar. She stopped 234 shots this season and her 779 career saves rank fifth all-time in Division III. Tripp led the Vixens in assists on the season. As co-captain this season she was a leader on and off the field. Tripp received second-team honors last season.
Drake's stick work and attack skills helped her lead the team in goals scored with 12. Returning from two ACL tears, she doubled her career goals scored this season.
