The Sweet Briar Vixens finished the season today at the Women's College Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Meredith College. SBC dropped four straight, but turned in another good performance by Jade Bomar '08 (Amherst, VA/Amherst County HS). Bomar notched 13 assists in the 10-30, 22-30, 18-30 loss to Randolph-Macon Woman's College, and another 11 as her team lost 21-30, 20-30, 12-30 to Hollins University. Senior Dana Ripperton (Chapel Hill, NC/Chapel Hill HS) playing in her home state, had a good offensive performance against the Wildcats. Lynnsey Kraus '07 (Houston, TX/Clements HS) registered two block solos in the same contest. Sweet Briar lost to Meredith 7-30, 15-30, 2-30 and to Hollins in a second meeting 27-30, 18-30, 14-30. The Vixens finish the season 0-20, but first year coach Beth Huus cited their season-long improvement and team play.
