The Sweet Briar College volleyball team lost two tough matches Saturday, both in straight sets. The Vixens suffered a 9-30, 10-30, 11-30 loss to Emory & Henry to start the day. Freshman Jade Bomar (Amherst, VA/Amherst County) led the team with 12 digs in the match. Sweet Briar took on Salem College in their second match. The lead switched hands several times in each game, with Salem winning 30-24, 30-24, 30- 19. The Vixens set a season high for digs in a match, led by Laurel Watt's 12 (Keysville, VA/Randolph-Henry). Lynnsey Krause '07 (Houston, TX/Clements) had seven kills in the match, helping Bomar pick up 16 assists. Sweet Briar hosts its last home match of the season Wednesday. They face Lynchburg College at 6:30 p.m.
