The Sweet Briar College swim team kicked off their 2004-2005 season Saturday with a 136-121 win at Hollins University. The Vixens started the meet by winning the 200 m. Medley Relay with Kelsey Jeffers '07 (Falls Church, VA/Falls Church), Brittany Carlton ?08 (Warrenton, VA/Highland School), Nicole Snyder '08 (Manassas, VA/Osbourn), and Katherine Walsh '08 (Yorktown, VA/Peninsula Catholic). The relay team of Walsh, Jennifer Milby ?08(Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis), Sarah Jacobs '08 (Alameda, CA/Alameda), and Leigh Darrell '06 (Chestertown, MD/Queen Anne's County) won the 200 m. Freestyle Relay. Sweet Briar won a total of seven individual events in the meet. Snyder and Carlton were both three-event winners. Snyder won the 100 m. Freestyle, 200 m. Butterfly, and the 500 m Freestyle. Carlton won the 100 m. and 200 m. Breaststrokes and the 200 m. Individual Medley. Jeffers won the 100 m. and 200 m. Backstrokes for the Vixens and placed second in the 50 m. Freestyle. ?I'm thrilled to start off the season with a conference dual meet victory,? said head coach Jason Gallaher after the meet. ?It was a total team effort.? Sweet Briar's next meet is Oct. 31 at the College of Notre Dame- Maryland at 11 a.m.
