Sweet Briar College soccer suffered a tough 2-0 loss against Guilford College Wednesday, giving up two late goals in the game. The game remained scoreless for 82 minutes, with both sides playing strong defensively and both missing scoring opportunities. Guilford finally found the back of the net with eight minutes to play when Morgan Jones connected on a pass from Jennah Carter. Guilford's Heather Ruggiero added another goal for the Quakers minutes later. Abby Brown '08 (Copper Canyon, TX/Marcus) came up with several spectacular saves for the Vixens. She had 13 saves in the game. ?Today, we came to play and played really well as a team,? said coach Paul Shaw. With the loss, the Vixens fall to 2-7 in ODAC play. Guilford improves to 5-2-2. Sweet Briar plays its last home match of the season Sunday, against Virginia Wesleyan at 1 p.m. Overall: 3-11
