Sweet Briar Gives Up One Goal in Loss to Columbia College
The Sweet Briar College soccer team battled Saturday but gave up one goal to lose to non-conference Columbia College 1-0. Physical play and aggressiveness helped the Vixens hold Columbia scoreless through the first 58 minutes of the game. Sweet Briar took 12 shots in the game but could not get one on the board. Goalkeeper Abby Brown '08 (Copper Canyon, TX/Marcus) had another solid performance in goal or the Vixens, stopping 13 shots. Coach Paul Shaw said, ?I am a fan of our team when we come to win the 50/50 balls and we definitely did that today.? Sweet Briar is home again Wednesday against Guilford College at 4 p.m
