Sweet Briar falls to Eastern Mennonnite in Three
Sweet Briar College volleyball lost in straight sets (13-30, 13-30, 18-30) Wednesday to Eastern Mennonite University in a home conference match. Sweet Briar's defensive play in the match led to several long rallies. Laurel Watts '08 (Keysville, VA/Randolph-Henry) came up big for the Vixens with six digs. On the offensive side, Lynnsey Kraus '07 (Houston, TX/Clements) led Sweet Briar with five kills. ?We have been working on a one tempo offense and the girls took steps in the match to incorporate it into our game,? said head coach Beth Huus after the match. Sweet Briar continues to fight for their first win. They take on Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan in a home ODAC tri-match on Saturday.
