Sweet Briar College soccer was shutout 5-0 at home Wednesday by Randolph-Macon. With the loss the Vixens are 2-4 in conference play. Randolph-Macon is 4-2 in the ODAC. Sweet Briar found itself down 4-0 at half. Kara Shapiro and Ashley Jefferson each scored once and Jackie Reid put two on the board for Randolph- Macon in the half. Lacy Phelps added another goal 10 minutes into the second half to wrap up the Yellow Jackets' scoring. Abby Brown '08 (Copper Canyon, TX/Marcus) had 21 saves in goal for the Vixens. ?We had a very lackluster performance in the first half but bounced back in the second,? said coach Paul Shaw. ?I think we gave a good account of ourselves in the second half and we even had opportunities going forward.? Sweet Briar is back on the road this Friday against Randolph-Macon Woman's College at 4 p.m.
