Sweet Briar College field hockey lost to Randolph- Macon 4-1 Wednesday in a home ODAC match. With the loss, the Vixens fall to 1- 4 in the ODAC. Randolph-Macon is now 2-3 in conference games. Jessica Yoke and Stacy Brittingham each scored to give Randolph-Macon a 2-0 lead at the half. Sweet Briar started the second half strong and avoided the shutout with a goal in the 40th minute by senior Beth Farnsworth (Grafton, MA/Grafton) on a pass from fellow senior Ginger Tripp (Richmond, VA/St. Catherines). The Vixens allowed two more goals by Erin DiDomenico and Lyndsay Edington before time expired. Sweet Briar saw outstanding play from Tripp on both ends of the field and forward Julie Drake '07 (San Jose, CA/Willow Glen) produced several scoring opportunities for the Vixens. Coach Jennifer Crispen said, ?We are producing better results in every contest. The focus has been on attack and the pressure is beginning to pay off.? Sweet Briar is home again Saturday for a non-conference match against the Eagles of the University of Mary Washington at 1 p.m.
