Sweet Briar's doubles combo of Laura Denson '05 (Houston, TX/Episcopal HS) and Haley Graham '06 (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes HS) played their way to the consolation finals of the Blue Draw Doubles at the Wilson/ITA Small College Tournament today. The duo defeated teams from Washington College, Bridgewater and Salisbury University before falling in a close final to Mathis and Wells of Christopher Newport.

In main draw singles action, Brentz Basten '05 (Lynchburg, VA/Jefferson Forest HS) defeated Elizabethtown's Emma Smith 7-6(3), 6-3 before losing to #6 Ginny Wortham W&L. The Vixens' Torrey Shallcross '05 (Alpharetta, GA/Milton HS) came back to defeat Priya Amar from Haverford 4-6, 7-6(7), 6-1 but lost to Elizabeth McCraken of Washington and Lee in the next round.

Julia Geyer '05 (Dallas, TX/Highland Park HS) won Blue Draw Consolation matches against Washington College and Christopher Newport before being knocked out by Bridgewater's Hillary Teeter. The Vixens will be hunting their first win on Tuesday at home against Mary Baldwin College at 6:30 pm.
