Sweet Briar's Anne Benham Selected First Team all-State
Sweet Briar senior midfielder Anne Benham (The Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands HS) has been selected as a member of the 2004 VaSID All-State Women's Lacrosse Team, College Division. Benham led her team in total points, ground balls and draw controls, and had a stellar senior year for coach Missy Ackerman's Vixens. SBC posted a 7-7 record, and made a 63 goal turn around in scoring differential. She was also first team ODAC All-Conference, second team IWLCA All-Region, and was awarded Sweet Briar's Crysler Award as Outstanding Four Year Athlete. She was president of Sweet Briar's Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and co-captain of both the lacrosse and volleyball teams. Graduating in May with a degree in sociology, Benham is now enrolled in Sweet Briar's master of education program.
