SBC International Writers Series Presents Manil Suri

Sweet Briar College’s International Writers Series continues with Indian novelist Manil Suri. Suri will lecture on Wednesday, April 15 and read from his work on Thursday, April 16. Both events begin at 8 p.m. in Memorial Chapel and admission is free.

Suri is the author of “The Age of Shiva” and “The Death of Vishnu,” which won the Barnes & Noble Discover Award and has been translated into 22 languages.

Suri, who was born and raised in Bombay — now Mumbai — India, is a citizen of both the United States and India. A mathematician with a Ph.D. from Carnegie-Mellon, he is a tenured professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he teaches in the mathematics and statistics department.

The International Writers Series is funded through the College’s lectures and events committee and the Ewald fund. Books by authors featured in the series are available at the Sweet Briar College Book Shop.
