International Writers Series Welcomes Bulgarian Writer April 23

Sweet Briar College’s International Writers Series concludes Thursday, April 23 with Bulgarian writer Dimiter Kenarov.

A poet, nonfiction writer and doctoral candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, Kenarov will read from his nonfiction work at 8 p.m. in the Boxwood Room of the Florence Elston Inn & Conference Center. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Kenarov’s work has appeared in the New England Review, Gettysburg Review, Virginia Quarterly Review and other literary journals and magazines. A piece he wrote for the Virginia Quarterly Review about the Roma — a people sometimes referred to as Gypsies — was recently selected for “Best American Travel Writing.”
