Sarah Müth ’14 hopes her senior directorial project will deliver a fresh take on a beloved classic. Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple, Female Version” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, in Babcock Studio Theatre at Sweet Briar College.
Sweet Briar College’s Chamber and Concert choirs, as well as its eight-singer group “Octavo,” will be part of Lynchburg’s Opera on the James productions of “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi” by Giacomo Puccini at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at E.C. Glass.
Oxford-based a cappella ensemble Voice will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, in Memorial Chapel at Sweet Briar College, with some songs featuring the Sweet Briar College Chamber Choir. The event is part of the College’s 2013-2014 Babcock Season.
Members of the Sweet Briar Theatre traveled to Scotland this week to participate in the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Led by theater director Bill Kershner, the troupe is performing “Chops,” an original play by Kirin McCrory, on Aug. 5, 6, 8 and 9.
When Briana McCall starts her first semester at Sweet Briar in just over a month, she’ll already be ahead of the curve — thanks to BLUR. As a participant in the College’s Blue Ridge Summer Institute for Young Artists, McCall didn’t just get to know the campus, she also made friends with Sweet Briar professors and students.
