Endstation Theatre Company presents the world premiere of “Unearthed: An Appalachian Musical,” produced in part by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts as part of the company’s 2013 Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival.
Emerging playwrights in Endstation Theatre Company’s annual residency program will share their works-in-progress over the next two weeks at Second Stage in Amherst. The readings are part of the company’s Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival and will take place at 7 p.m. on July 15, 16, 22 and 23.
Sweet Briar College’s third annual Blue Ridge Summer Institute for Young Artists will be held June 16 through July 7 on its campus. This year, the camp has added music and technical theater to its repertoire of theater, creative writing and visual arts.
Endstation Theatre Company has expanded its Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival beyond the campus of Sweet Briar College for the 2013 season. Two of three plays — Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” and “Cymbeline” — will also be performed at historic locations and theaters in downtown Lynchburg.
Endstation Theatre Company and Sweet Briar College will host a reading of “In Sweet Remembrance” by playwright Tearrance A. Chisholm at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in Pannell Gallery. A reception follows the event, which is free and open to the public.
