A new exhibition at Sweet Briar College reveals the sometimes hidden connections between visual artists of different cultural backgrounds, genres or eras. In conjunction with the College’s four-day Fringe Festival, an opening reception for “Student, Teacher, Mentor, Friend: The Impact of Artists’ Relationships” takes place at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in Pannell Gallery.

Sarah Müth ’14 hopes her senior directorial project will deliver a fresh take on a beloved classic. Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple, Female Version” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, in Babcock Studio Theatre at Sweet Briar College.
Sweet Briar College’s Chamber and Concert choirs, as well as its eight-singer group “Octavo,” will be part of Lynchburg’s Opera on the James productions of “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi” by Giacomo Puccini at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at E.C. Glass.
