Who’s new at Sweet Briar?

| August 14, 2013

The Office of Alumnae and Development welcomed several new — and returning — staff members this summer.

Jacqueline Penny is the new director of Boxwood Circle.

Donna Whitehouse began her current duties as director of donor relations and prospect management on July 1. Whitehouse previously served Sweet Briar as director of donor relations and data operations. She has been a member of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) since 2000 and is currently the treasurer of its Virginia branch.

Also in July, Stacey Kerr ’12 joined the alumnae and development team as assistant director of annual giving. Kerr came to Sweet Briar to ride and study from Oxford, Pa., and graduated with a degree in business and a minor in gender studies. She remains an avid rider and works directly with alumnae in the Young Alumnae and Reunion programs.

Jacqueline Coles Penny ’71 took over as the director of Boxwood Circle in August, bringing with her a love of new places and a diverse background in business, education and travel, along with years of volunteering for Sweet Briar. Penny says she has always considered Sweet Briar the love of her life and has come “home” to continue the relationship. A native of Massachusetts, Penny recently moved to campus from Florida.
