Lisa M. Taylor has joined Sweet Briar College as a major gifts officer. A native of Lynchburg, Taylor graduated from E.C. Glass High School and received her bachelor’s degree in rhetoric and communication studies from the University of Virginia. She joins the College from Scott Insurance, where she served for seven years as the director of marketing and creative support.

Taylor previously worked in a variety of sales and marketing roles in Wyoming, including owning a women’s clothing boutique.

“Lisa’s sales and marketing experience, her spirit of entrepreneurship and love for people, and her deep professional and business relationships in Central Virginia will enable her to be a true asset to Sweet Briar College and a delight to the alumnae and donors with whom she will work,” said director of major and planned giving Margie Lippard.

Taylor is an active volunteer in the Lynchburg community, concentrating on youth activities, politics and the arts. Among her many roles, she has served as a board member for the E.C. Glass High School Foundation and Lynch’s Landing; as an elected council member for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church; and as an organizational and founding member of Lynchburg First.
