It is with great sadness that I write to tell you of the death of Elizabeth “Liz” Wilson ’13, who in May received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with minors in business and classics.
Spencer Bakich, an associate professor of international affairs at Sweet Briar College, will participate in a roundtable discussion at CIA headquarters on June 20. He will speak on his forthcoming book and its implications for the U.S. government and intelligence community.
Sweet Briar College’s third annual Blue Ridge Summer Institute for Young Artists will be held June 16 through July 7 on its campus. This year, the camp has added music and technical theater to its repertoire of theater, creative writing and visual arts.
The Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies at the University of Southern California has selected Sweet Briar assistant professor of English David Griffith as a Generations in Dialogue, or GID, scholar. He is one of six young academics chosen from among 121 applicants.
Sweet Briar College will host the annual Teaching with Historic Places workshop, co-sponsored by the Tusculum Institute and the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, on Saturday, June 15. This year’s theme is “Civil Rights in Education.”
