JYF in Paris organizes a variety of weekend, day trips, cultural activities and special events to give students an opportunity to get to know each other and visit places they might not otherwise get to see.
Included in your program fee are excursions and day trips to places of cultural interest. Each semester excursions will take you to Avignon and the Provence region or to the D-Day beaches and Mont Saint-Michel in the Normandy region. Day trips may include other French cities such as Strasbourg, the capital city of the Alsace region in northeast France, or Lille.
Cultural activities such as concerts, theater performances, museums, cooking class, and guided visits in and around Paris are also organized throughout the semester. Students are also encouraged to enhance their experience of French arts and culture independently and receive a 30€ reimbursement on presentation of receipts at the end of the semester.
Special events and gatherings are also organized for students.
Paris Lecture Series
Each year JYF in Paris sponsors lectures for students, alumni, host families and the Reid Hall community at large.
The lectureship is presented through the generosity of the Bradt Family Fund. The fund is an endowment of JYF, which supports multi-disciplinary lectures and receptions in France with contemporary French thought leaders. These activities, offered during the academic year, are intended to advance mutual understanding between members of the university community — notably the students of JYF, University of Paris, and alumni of these institutions.
