Non-Residential Students

Welcome to Sweet Briar!

I am very excited that you are going to be joining us for the upcoming semester. My name is Wayne Stark and I serve as your Non-Residential Student Advisor. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have as you venture on to our campus. Throughout the year, you will receive invitations to gatherings and other helpful programming opportunities that will allow you to build relationships with your peers as well as with faculty and staff. I hope that you will choose to participate in these opportunities.

I also would like you to know that as you travel to and from campus there is a special student lounge just for you. This lounge is located in the EB Room of the Dew Residence Hall. Please feel free to use the refrigerator, microwave, and other amenities located near this room. This room is locked so you will want to pick up a key from Gloria Smith at the Co-Curricular Life front desk. Co-curricular Life is located on the second floor of Prothro Hall.

You can also stay over night in the rooms of the Guest House. These rooms are located on the bottom floor of Harley (Health Services Building) should you find it necessary due to inclement weather. Just pick up a key, toiletries, and linen from the front desk of the Florence Elston Inn. There is small fee of $10.00 for this service.

You will be receiving orientation information soon. I strongly recommend that you review this information and complete any forms that are necessary for your smooth transition to Sweet Briar. The links on the left will direct you to the orientation information and new student forms. Please plan to attend all of the orientation sessions.

Good luck on your upcoming semester. Feel free to contact me via email [email protected] or 434-381-6463 with any questions.

Best Wishes,

Wayne Stark
