Environmental Science Weekend

Participants in the fall 2016 Explore program collect data on tree measurements to calculate carbon storage.

Do you like the outdoors? Are you concerned about our environment? Interested in learning more about how to protect and understand the natural world? Join us April 7-8, 2017, for an introduction to environmental sciences through hands-on learning and problem-solving! You’ll spend time in the forests and streams on Sweet Briar’s expansive campus collecting and analyzing data relevant to a contemporary environmental issue, and discover what it’s like to work as an environmental scientist. This event is for high school girls in their sophomore, junior and senior years.

Cost

Cost is $35 and includes room and board, snacks and supplies.
