Living at Sweet Briar college

Be who you are

From special interest groups to multicultural communities, century-old tap clubs and academic organizations, Sweet Briar students build the world they want to see.

We are writers, performers, athletes and activists. We are citizen diplomats and mental health advocates. We celebrate our identities and create connections that stay with us long after we have left this special place.

If there isn’t a club that fits, you can always start a new one! Whether taking on a leadership role, or supporting as a member, there’s a place for you.

A diverse community

Sweet Briar College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. We believe that a community rich in diversity enriches the experiences and perspectives of all its members, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. We welcome individuals of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and socio-economic backgrounds. We work to create an atmosphere in which all members of the community can thrive. We recognize and appreciate the unique contributions that each person brings to our community, and we believe that through our differences, we can come together to create a more vibrant and dynamic community.

Come join ICC and the Tap Club Council as we make sure that no tap club baby gets left behind and everyone has the hats and door tags they need!  Any student is welcome to come by and help make these items, regardless of membership in a tap club.

If you are in a tap club and are missing a hat or door tag, or you would like to help us make these items, please reach out to ICC@sbc.edu so you can fill out our form to let us know you are interested!
