Living at Sweet Briar college

Be who you are

From special interest groups to multicultural communities, century-old tap clubs and academic organizations, Sweet Briar students build the world they want to see.

We are writers, performers, athletes and activists. We are citizen diplomats and mental health advocates. We celebrate our identities and create connections that stay with us long after we have left this special place.

If there isn’t a club that fits, you can always start a new one! Whether taking on a leadership role, or supporting as a member, there’s a place for you.

Student Life Events

As the closing event of Tap Club Spirit Week, join ICC and the Tap Club Council for a Field Day on the Dell!

Come hang out and play some games such as tug o’ war, capture the flag, and more!  All students are welcome to participate regardless of membership in a tap club.

We will be playing a lot of kahoot and other games to test your knowledge of women’s history and feminism.

Students will have the opportunity to go to the Lynchburg Mosque for a communal Iftar meal. The SBC van will pick up the registered students outside of the post office at 6:50pm, ready to leave at 6:55pm. The event is anticipated to foster a sense of unity and understanding among students of different backgrounds as they come together to break the fast with the local Muslim community and observe and/or participate in their prayer. Participants will enjoy a diverse array of traditional dishes, engage in meaningful conversations, and share, in the spirit of Ramadan. This event symbolizes our commitment to inclusivity and cultural appreciation, as students embrace the opportunity to learn and celebrate together.
