Residential Life

While in residence at BLUR, you will have the opportunity to do and see many wonderful things — almost too many to count. In order to help keep you informed of the many opportunities and to ensure that life in the dorms is comfortable and safe, Assistant Program Director Kate Plows, a Res-Life professional, arts educator and ceramicist will be on-duty 24 hours a day.

Kate Plows has led residence life and student services programs at the assistant
director level or higher at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and  Humanities, Maryland Institute College of Art, and for more than a decade at the  Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts. She currently teaches high school  ceramics and graphic design at Malvern Preparatory School in suburban Philadelphia.

She also is an art instructor at Immaculata University and teaching faculty at the
 Delaware Art Museum.

Plows earned her B.F.A. in painting from St. Vincent College, and her master's in
teaching from The University of the Arts. In what little spare time she has, she enjoys  freelancing as a graphic designer, throwing pots and spending time with her animals
 —  one dog, two cats and five horses.
