Welcome to Reunion 2008!
The Alumnae Office is excited to welcome back reunion classes ending in the 3's and 8's. Please join us in celebrating this special weekend May 16 – 18. Below is information you need for Reunion events.
The Alumnae Association invites the members of the Class of 1958, who will celebrate their 50th Class Reunion, to return as our guests for Reunion Weekend. An exclusive evening honoring these ladies will be held on Friday night during Reunion.
Everyone is invited to join us for the Sweet Briar Faculty Music Recital with Dean Jonathan Green, voice; Professor of Music Nicholas Ross, piano; and Instructor of Music Jana Ross, violin. Enjoy an hour of classical music on the new Schimmel grand piano in the Chapel. The gift to fund our new Schimmel concert grand piano was made by Mr. Robert Gipson to commemorate the 75th year of the graduation from Sweet Briar College of his mother, Madeleine Le Pine Gipson '33. The concert will be held at the Memorial Chapel at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17.
Kick up your heels and dance the night away to rock 'n' roll hits from pioneers like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and the Everly Brothers — just to name a few. Back by popular demand, King Cadillac will perform at the Cocktail Buffet and Dancing in Prothro Dining Room and Student Commons Courtyard with faculty, retirees, and staff on Saturday, May 17, from 7 – 11 p.m.
Please register online or fill out the reservations form in the Reunion Reservations Brochure by May 5, 2008, and mail it to the Boxwood Alumnae House, P.O. Box E, Sweet Briar, VA 24595. (We look forward to seeing you in May!) If you have any questions please contact reunion coordinator Nancy Kleinhans `06.
Do we have your most up-to-date information? In order for the College and your classmates to stay in touch, we ask that you provide Sweet Briar with all of your current information: name, address, phones (home, cell and work), emails, Web sites, employment information (title, company, address), and advanced degrees. Your employment and advanced degree information is vital to our Career Services Center. Alumnae are an excellent resource for our current students and having their updated information helps us to connect students with alumnae who share the same interests.
If you are wondering what Sweet Briar knows about you, check out your own record on our Banner Self Service. The link is on the Alumnae Office homepage: www.sbc.edu/alumnae. If you have never logged in, contact the Alumnae Office and we will get you set up. The database allows you to search for alumnae based on several criteria: graduation year, major, occupation, and even by Sweet Briar Alumnae Club. Send all updates to the Alumnae Office at alumnae@sbc.edu, or submit your change of information online at http://www.sbc.edu/alumnae/new.html. |
