Distinguished Alumna Award

In 1987 the Board of the Alumnae Association established the Distinguished Alumna Award to honor alumnae (preferably graduates) who have brought distinction to themselves and to Sweet Briar College through outstanding accomplishment in a volunteer or professional capacity.
The award is presented by the President of the Alumnae Association, preferably - though not necessarily, at Founders' Day. (The first awards were presented at Opening Convocation in 1988.)
Nominations are invited from any member of the Sweet Briar
family: alumnae, faculty, administration, staff, members
of the Alumnae Board and the College Board of Directors,
and students. Nominate online
or by mail to: Alumnae Awards Committee, c/o the Alumnae
Association, Sweet Briar College. Nominations remain active
for 3 years - after that time, they will be considered by
the Awards Committee to either be reproposed or withdrawn
from consideration.
