ABOUT ME:

Favorite Subjects: Medieval History, Literature

Activities/Hobbies/Loves: Gardening, cooking, my rescued dogs (Carson and Lucy)

When I “grow up” I want to:  Make a difference in this world!

What excited you about college? I am a Back-to-School junkie, and I loved working on the two-semester calendar—the preparation for a new school year still excites me!

If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to: England and Scotland.

If you could have one day with any one, it would be:  My SBC field hockey coach, Crispen—she was one of the most inspirational women I ever had the pleasure of knowing.

You should know: that l love Glee, am an avid kitchen chemist (just ask!), and while I take my job here seriously, I don’t take myself that seriously

Me, Briefly:

Sweet Briar is such an amazing place! In four short years, it became my second home where I have met (and continue to meet!) the most amazing people and friends for life. It was the place where I truly found myself and my voice, and I am thrilled to be using that voice as a champion for Sweet Briar.  It may sound cheesy, but it is absolutely true — your college experience is what you make of it, and at Sweet Briar there are no limits to what you can do and accomplish. So dare to dream, make goals, and reach for anything and everything you can imagine!

Experiencing the unique blend of a liberal arts women's college is incredible, but intense. Even if you know that SBC is the place for you, shop around. You wouldn't buy a car or a new pair of shoes without doing your research or "comparison shopping," so make sure to do it with your college decision. At the very least, it will confirm that Sweet Briar is the school for you!

I often feel that I’m an Admissions Counselor by day, and trying to be Super Woman in all the little moments in between!  I am passionate about all things food, especially cooking delicious and healthy meals for my family and friends. My husband, Jason, and I have found a mutual love for gardening in our "back forty," and can often be found tag-teaming it at the local farmer's market.  My other passion has become our two rescued pooches, Carson and Lucy, and getting them trained and behaving less badly for frequent "pet therapy" sessions with my students on campus. And if our area of Virginia ever gets a Dunkin' Donuts, watch out world, 'cause Grace definitely runs on Dunkin'. ☺Grace & QVs

Favorite Place on Campus
Thayer Field where the field hockey team plays on Boathouse Road. I have such great memories of playing there all four years, and the view of the surrounding mountains is amazing! On a clear night, it is a great place to go stargazing. It's truly one of the most serene and peaceful places on campus, unless there's a game going on, of course!  These days I also love assistant coaching our hockey team—it’s been such a rewarding experience to give back to our community!
