Grace Farnsworth '04Assistant Director of Admissions![]() gfarnsworth@sbc.edu Hometown: Grafton, MA Recruitment Areas: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont. Additional/Special Recruitment Responsibilities: I am the Sweet Ambassador Adviser and the moderator for the SBC Bound website. Educational Background: I graduated from Sweet Briar in 2004 with a B.A. degree in History. A Few Thoughts on Sweet Briar: Sweet Briar is such an amazing place! In four short years it became my second home where I have met (and continue to meet!) the most amazing people and my best friends for life. It was the place where I truly found myself, and my own voice and I am so excited to be back and using that voice as a champion for Sweet Briar. It may sound "cheesy," but it is absolutely true--your college experience is what you make of it, and at Sweet Briar there are no boundaries to what you can do and accomplish. So dare to dream, make goals, and reach for anything and everything you can imagine! Favorite Place on Campus: The field hockey field on Boathouse Road--I have such great memories of playing there all four years, and the view of the surrounding mountains is amazing! And on a clear night it is a great place to go stargazing--it's truly one of the most serene and peaceful places on campus (unless there's a game going on, of course!). What I Like to Do in My Spare Time: I'm obsessed with the Food Network and LOVE to cook for friends and family, all the while dreaming of becoming Sweet Briar's own Rachael Ray :) I also love gardening, volunteering in the greater Amherst/Madison Heights community, walking with my dog, Carson, visits with close friends and family, and staying active in the Sweet Briar Community. A Few Words of Advice to Prospective Students: The unique blend of a Liberal Arts Women's college is an incredible experience, but an intense one. Even if you know that SBC is the place for you, shop around. You wouldn't buy a car or a new pair of shoes without doing your research or "comparison shopping," so make sure to do it with your college decision. At the very least it will confirm that Sweet Briar is the school for you! |
